St. David’s Day

What better way to liven up another day in lockdown, than to have some fun celebrating St. David's Day. That's exactly what the staff at our residential home in Pencader decided this week. And the first code of conduct was to wear something Welsh. Needless to say, everyone made a great effort.

With Rhodri and Amanda both up for the St. David's Day challenge, the first task was to decorate the house. With help from our arts & crafts guru (Team Leader Nina), posters and decorations were made, as well as adorning the house in Welsh Flags. Once done, it was time to get busy in the kitchen. Rhodri and Amanda both enjoyed making Welsh cakes and the day could not be complete without making some traditional cawl. Both were delicious by all accounts.

So with the house looking great and bellies full, it was time to bring out the karaoke. Everyone enjoyed singing Welsh themed songs. The Stereophonics, Tom Jones and Bonnie Tyler all got the treatment! And not content with this, they even tried some traditional Welsh tunes. Judging by the photos, it is safe to say that a good time was had by all.

Da iawn bawb!
