Ty Pin Coed
Ty Pin Coed is located between Carmarthen and Llanelli in the village of Mynydd Y Garreg, on a hill overlooking the surrounding South Wales countryside. The market towns of Kidwelly and Burry Port are minutes away by car and there is easy access to the M4 corridor. Pembrey Country Park with it's numerous amenities and activities, is also located very close by.
A spacious lobby is located off the entrance hall with access to the ground floor amenities. The whole house has been decorated in a pale colour with attention to detail given to all aspects of health and safety. As with all our care homes, a staff office is located upstairs.
Accommodation is provided in 4 bedrooms of this domestic scale property, all of which offer en-suite facilities. On the ground floor we have two modern and newly designed ensuite double bedrooms with the benefit of professionally designed and fitted ensuite bathrooms. The house has been finished to the highest standards and has been decorated in a neutral colour throughout. We offer the highest quality and most homelike and comfortable communal facilities on the ground floor, with a welcoming sitting room where you will find the latest digital television, stereo system and games console.
The first floor offers two modern bedrooms both with ensuite wet-room facility and built in cupboards. Both these bedrooms are large, which will offer plenty of scope to personalise them to suit the individual. As with all our residential care homes, service users are encouraged to add their own personal touches to their own rooms, including choice of colour and provision for redecorating and use of their own personal possessions to make the room their own personal space.
The kitchen boasts a high quality finish with granite work spaces and granite flooring, with all modern appliances. The dining area is adjacent which overlooks the rear garden via patio doors. The dining room table can comfortably accommodate 8 people and the room also includes a 2 seat leather sofa.
Ty Pin Coed also benefits from an enclosed and private rear garden area, including lawns and a tarmac drive for parking. Service users can also use the garden facilities to relax and enjoy small scale sports activities (football, badminton etc).
REGISTERED MANAGER OF TY PIN COED RESIDENTIAL SERVICE
I left school at 17 before finishing my A Levels to pursue a career in plumbing. I attended Ammanford College for 3 years and attained an NVQ. After working for numerous companies, and a couple of years self-employment, I decided that plumbing was not for me and changed career paths.
I began working for ILS in 2012 at Ceiriosen Bren residential setting and worked there for around 2 years, gaining valuable experience before heading over to Ty Pin Coed as an acting team leader. Over the course of the last two years I have worked up through the company and am now registered manager at Ty Pin Coed. I have a QCF level 5 in Health and Social Care, a QCF level 3 in Positive Behaviour Support and am also a qualified PBM instructor for the company.
Manager of Ty Pin Coed (Covering)
I have been with ILS since 2011. Within that time, I have worked as a support worker, a team leader and a deputy manager across all ILS settings. I am accredited with a QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Adults’ Residential Management) & a Level 3 Advanced Certificate (SRF) in Positive Behaviour Support. I previously worked in the construction industry. I find working at ILS can be challenging but highly rewarding.
Acting Deputy Manager of Ty Pin Coed
I started my role nearly 7 years ago as a support worker with very little experience within the care sector and was given the opportunity to complete NVQ health and social care Level 3, also given depth training by ILS on how to support & understand individuals with Mental health difficulties & challenging behaviour. I was then given the opportunity to become a Team Leader and assist with the daily running of Ty Pin Coed, giving advice and supporting staff to become effective support workers. Now I have the exciting opportunity to start the role of “Acting Deputy Manger” at Ty Pin Coed, I have been enrolled on NVQ Level 4 to further expand my learning and knowledge within Health care, I look forward to completing this.
