Castle visit

How many times do we drive past places and think ‘I’d like to visit there one day’? Well, last week JJ did finally get to visit Kidwelly castle. Was it worth the wait? Most definitely! ILS’s life skills coordinator Nick Hermann tells us the background to this picture… “It all started a couple of months […]

Competition time!

We love a competition at ILS, and last week’s ‘animals made from fruit & veg’ was the bees knees. Here, ILS MD Ann Bateman presents Rhodri first prize for this brilliant crocodile. ILS update: Thanks to everyone who liked, loved and commented on this article on Facebook. We reached nearly 2000 people and had really […]

Halloween Party

We hope you all had a splendid Halloween. As parties go, our Plwmp care home couldn’t have done a better job. Well done to everyone who took part – not least Tom for winning the costume competition and willingness to get soaked!

Aber All Stars

Following recent media coverage of Aber All Stars, ILS would like to say a big thank you for the help and support given to our service users over the years. Without this support, countless parents, families, coaches, support workers and players would be denied participating in this brilliant community project. Keep up the good work!

Gym & pool fun

This weeks shout out goes to the Three Rivers Hotel and Spa, Ferryside. Our service users love the gym and pool facilities and with super friendly staff on hand, we always feel welcome and safe. Here, JJ proves keeping fit can be great fun too!

Staff Success

Another great week for ILS staff… Today we congratulate John Gresty, deputy manager in our Mynyddygarreg home, who has just achieved his Level 5 QCF in Leadership for health and social care services (adults residential management). Well done John!

QCF success

We are always so proud when an ILS team member gains another care qualification and none more so than Rhodri Clarke. Rhodri has just passed his Level 5 QCF in Leadership for health and social care services (adults residential management). Congratulations from everyone at ILS!

Just giving

The Ty Glyn Davis Trust, known locally as the ‘Secret Garden’ is wonderful project that gives a huge amount to the local community, not least volunteering opportunities to our service users. Here, Jane Jamieson presents a cheque to Janine and staff inside the beautiful walled garden. ILS update: We now have two service users attending […]
